The day has finally arrived in which we are all allowed to hear Lingua Ignota's sophomore release, Caligula. I have been a fan of hers for a while now and she was a huge inspiration for me to start this blog. If you are not familiar with her work I sincerely encourage you to take a listen. As a woman musician she is one of the many who have been given the gift of transmitting rage and emotion we all wish we could release. Her performances are compared to exorcisms and she fights with her relationships with religion, men and her own psychological issues in her lyrics.
Kristin Hayter, the voice of Lingua Ignota, released her first album ALL BITCHES DIE , in 2017 via herself. It was then picked up and re-released via Profound Lore where she remains for Caligula. Critically acclaimed and hot off performances at this years Road Burn Festival, she will be headlining her first tour of Europe this fall.
She is a survivor of domestic violence, an advocate for other women (often promoting go-fund me's for other abuse victims), and donated 100% of her artist proceeds to the National Network to End Domestic Violence from All Bitches Die. She is a true warrior for women.
Yes, I will stay bitter I didn't get an advanced listen because I am a small no-name blog, but she's so damn good I won't hold it against her.
You can order Caligula on all platforms but we suggest vinyl. Music and tour dates below.
